Amanda Cox can be seen on the AccuWeather Channel and on 69 News: Weekend Edition at 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. Amanda joined the WFMZ Weather Team in December of 2008. She began her television career at ABC-affiliated KMBC in Kansas City, Missouri as a weather producer and meteorologist, working alongside the Chief Meteorologist. In August of 2007, she moved to the CBS station in Lincoln, Nebraska where she primarily worked as the Weekend Morning Meteorologist but also spent time co-anchoring, reporting and working severe weather.

Amanda grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She received her meteorology degree from the University of Missouri, where she was part of the University Storm Chasers Club, Alpha Phi Sorority and the International H2O Research Project. She was also a teaching assistant for the Atmospheric Science Department. Amanda became a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association during her college years and remains a member today.

Amanda has always been very interested in weather, even when she was a young girl. Everyone in her family said she would grow to do something with weather...and the rest is history.

Amanda enjoys spending free time with family and friends, being outdoors, listening to live music, doing yoga, shopping and playing with her spoiled Shih Tzu dog Lily.
