Additional charges have been filed against a high school teacher and coach accused of having inappropriate relationships with underage girls.
Jonathan Bell was charged Thursday with seven additional counts, including statutory sexual assault, sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, said Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly.
The latest criminal charges against Bell, 31, of Wyomissing, Berks Co., are the result of an ongoing investigation, which found that Bell had sexual contact with a female student while she was a 15-year old sophomore, Kelly said.
Bell, an art teacher in the Exeter Township School District and a water polo coach for Governor Mifflin, was initially arrested on August 7 and charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with a 17-year old female student between December 2010 and May 2011.
Bell has since been suspended from his job at Exeter and terminated from his position with Governor Mifflin.
Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to contact Chief Detective Michael Gombar of the Berks County District Attorney's office at 610-478-7171.
