I've spent years roaming hallways in courthouses, looking for scraps of information on what federal grand juries are investigating, notably federal political corruption probes involving ex-Sen. Bob Mellow, former county commissioners, among others who went to jail, and I've won investigative journalism awards in the process. I've chased fire engines, cops and robbers, and a colorful cast of criminals, gang bangers, Mafia, et al., all over the Poconos and the Lehigh Valley when I was at the Morning Call in Allentown, among other newspapers, and as a stringer for Reuters where my articles have been picked up and published in papers around the world. I'm the guy who found John Gotti's hideaway in the Poconos. I covered the ex-police chief in Stroudsburg who was accused of swiping quarters from parking meter collections (he was acquitted), the Easton police officer who was shot in the back at headquarters by another officer, and the tumultuous years in the Allentown police department when Roy Afflerbach was mayor and the police marched in the streets to get rid of his police chief. It's been a real trip. I've seen a lot. You never know where I'm going to show up next.
