Ali began her journalistic career in 2005 at the University of Pittsburgh's daily student newspaper, The Pitt News. She graduated from Pitt in 2009 with a dual bachelor of arts in business administration and psychology, with a concentration in communications. She has been writing and reporting on a freelance basis since 2012. Ali began reporting for the WFMZ.com in February 2014, providing coverage of Berks County municipal and school district board meetings. She covered similar local meetings for The Reading Eagle prior to joining WFMZ's web team.
Ali also writes for other local publications on a freelance basis and works full time as a marketing professional. When she is not writing, Ali spends her spare time outside kayaking, hiking and camping.
