Catasauqua solicitor: Legal action needs to be taken against owners of collapsed building

CATASAUQUA, Pa. - A Lehigh County official says he wants to take legal action against the owners of a building that collapsed in Catasauqua.

The home on Crane Street came down over the weekend, and two families were displaced.

Crews were back out at the scene Tuesday working to clean up to the mess.

According to officials, the New Jersey company that owns the building was ordered to submit an engineering study for demolition but never did.

They also say the company was fined several times over the past eight months for the condition of the home.

At a meeting last night, the borough solicitor said that once the final cost for the clean-up is in, he'll sue the property owners and put a lien against the property.
