Lehigh Valley

Today: Breezy, warm and humid; times of clouds and sun. High: 87
Tonight: Lingering clouds, turning cooler late. Slight chance for a late night shower in spots. Low: 60
Saturday: Windy, cooler and less humid with some sunshine. High: 74 Low: 50
After dealing with oppressive heat the last few days there will be some relief today and even more over the Labor Day weekend. First up today...today clouds from Hurricane Earl will mix with sunshine across the viewing area; however as you head closer to the shore locations that cloud cover will be thicker. Paralleling that line of thinking it will also be breezy today with windier conditions near the coast. The clouds should help to keep highs in the 80s today and even though that's warm it's not as warm as it has been the last several days. As Earl pushes up and away for the East Coast it will steal moisture from an approaching, and weakening, cold front. This cold front will slide through very early Saturday morning with nothing more than a few isolated showers. In the wake of the cold front highs will be in the 70s this weekend with plenty of sunshine?absolutely fantastic weather to unofficially wrap-up summer 2010.
Update on Earl: Earl is now a Category 2 hurricane with sustained winds at 105 miles per hour. Earl's track will have keep it well off the shores of the Mid-Atlantic states; however it will come awfully close to Cape Cod later on tonight and early Saturday morning. If you are headed to the shore this weekend look for thick cloud cover, showers and strong winds today and strong rip currents for most of the weekend.
