Sunny skies, dewpoints near 60 degrees and temperatures topping out in the low and mid 80s made for a warm, but pleasant day on Thursday. This evening look for the clouds to increasing as a short wave of low pressure slides into the area from the Great Lakes. This short wave may spark up a few showers and even a thunderstorm as it makes its way across the region this evening through the early morning hours on Friday. As daybreak nears another round of showers and possibly thunderstorms will be moving in from the west and southwest. Otherwise, tonight will be muggier and warmer as temperatures only fall into the low 70s.
The showers and at times a thunderstorm will continue throughout the day on Friday. The most active time period still appearing to come late in the day and at night as the cold front advances to the east. Friday will be humid with dewpoints closer to 70 degrees, but temperatures will be similar to the low and mid 80s the area experienced on Thursday.
The cold front (along with the remnants of Cindy) will finally exit our area by midday on Saturday. However, during the morning there may still be a couples showers around, especially south and southeast of the Lehigh Valley. Once that clears the area look for humidity levels to begin to drop and sunshine to return as temperatures reach into the mid 80s. The nice weather with stick with us for Sunday when highs will be in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies.
