|
Fred is one of
the Assignment Editors at 69 News. He dispatches crews to cover breaking
news and gathers information on developing stories.
Fred is a lifelong southern New Jersey resident. He graduated from
Glassboro State College (now known as Rowan University) with a
Bachelor's Degree in Radio/TV/Film.
Fred’s initial career interest was in radio and the music industry, but
an internship and subsequent job at KYW TV in Philadelphia changed that.
After working for four years as a Desk Assistant at KYW, Fred joined the
staff at WPHL Philadelphia, where he was an Assignment Editor for
"Inquirer News Tonight" which evolved into "WB17 News at Ten". During
his time at WPHL he also did some field production, and interviewed the
likes of Ed Rendell, Tom Ridge, and two of his childhood idols, Kenny
Gamble of Philadelphia International Records and Dick Clark.
After a brief stop at CN8/The Comcast Network, Fred joined the
Assignment Desk staff at 69 News in September of 2006.
Fred never lost interest in radio or music. He owns thousands of
recordings which span from the early 1900s to today's hits, and is a
walking encyclopedia of music trivia. He attends many concerts and has
even gone backstage to meet The Temptations and The Delfonics.
Fred spends much of his spare time with his girlfriend, Cheri. He enjoys
rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and taking trips to
the Poconos, the New Jersey Shore, and North Carolina's Outer Banks.
