John Derr
began his television broadcasting career in 1989 in Hagerstown, Maryland
where he was a news reporter and 11 pm anchor.
In 1991, Derr moved to the sports broadcasting arena as Sports Director
and Sports Anchor at a television station in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. In
1997, Derr returned to news as the nightly anchor in Presque Isle,
Maine.
Derr was born in Phillipsburg, New
Jersey and spent the first year of his life in Easton. He's a graduate
of Towson State University where he earned his BS in Communications.
Derr says he's glad to have come full circle and be back in the Lehigh
Valley to work at WFMZ.
