Rachel Frank
grew up in the Big Apple with her parents and her sister. She received
her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University with a major in
meteorology, and a focus on forecasting.
Before coming to WFMZ Rachel worked as a Meteorologist for WICU 12News
in Erie, Pennsylvania. Rachel is excited to get away from the lake
effect snow and be closer to home.
Rachel is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the National
Weather Association, and the National Meteorological honors society Chi
Epsilon Pi. She also received a Golden Mic award in Erie, PA for "Best
Weekend News Team."
In college, Rachel’s extracurricular interests included participation in
the Penn State Dance Marathon where she danced for 48 hours straight,
and she’s quick to point out, “without sitting or sleeping.” Rachel
raised over $5,000 for pediatric cancer research and to provide support
for the families living with the disease.
When asked to tell us something you might be surprised to know about
her, Rachel said she used to want to be an actress and even auditioned
for the movie “Life with Mikey” starring Michael J. Fox. She was good
enough to get a call back!
