Jim Vaughn
serves as a reporter, photographer, and fill-in anchor for 69 Sports. He
graduated from Upper Perk High School in 1999, and earned a B.A. in
Communication Studies from West Chester University in 2003.
Jim's broadcasting career began at West Chester, where he was the radio
play-by-play announcer for West Chester's football and basketball teams,
in addition to hosting a weekly, call-in sports talk show. After
graduating from West Chester in 2003, he landed a job as a news reporter
and anchor at News Talk 790 WAEB.
In August 2004, Jim came to Metro Traffic, where he produced and
anchored traffic reports for 8 radio stations, in addition to 69 News at
5:00, 5:30, and the sunrise
edition. During his stint at Metro Traffic, Jim began working part-time
for 69 Sports. In July of 2005, Jim joined the sports team full-time.
Jim has won awards from the Associated Press, Broadcast Education
Association, and Pennsylvania Keystone Press.
In his spare time, Jim is active in his church, and enjoys watching and
playing sports, playing piano, reading, sampling the Lehigh Valley's
vast array of restaurants, and spending time with his wife Kelly.
And yes, Jim Vaughn is the son of 69 News anchor Rob Vaughn.
