A new report says the Lehigh Valley's foreclosure rate is slowly inching in the right direction.

Real estate data firm Corelogic says the rate in the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area was 4.34 percent in January.

That's down slightly from the previous month of 4.38% but it's still higher than it was a year ago (4.04%).

The local foreclosure rate is also higher than the state (2.88%) and national rates (2.9%) by more than a point.
