  • The grand opening and ribbon cutting for Frutta Bowls at 241 West Broad Street in Quakertown will take place on Aug. 17 at 12 p.m. This will be the first Frutta Bowl in the Upper Bucks/Lehigh area. 
  • The Walmart Supercenter in East Stroudsburg will open a new Pickup Tower on Friday, Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. Customers can buy items from then pick them up from the tower at no extra cost.
  • Diamond Credit Union has named Andrea Sawchuk Moyer as the manager of its new branch in Royersford, Montgomery County. She is a Pottstown-area native and graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem. The branch will open in October.
  • The grand opening and ribbon cutting for Macho's sports bar will take place on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 1 p.m. at 39 South 9th Street in Allentown. 
  • Altar'd State, a growing women's fashion brand, is coming to the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley this fall. 
  • Richland Library expands its hours. The library at 44 S. Main Street in Quakertown is now open Wednesday 1-4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon.
  • East Stroudsburg University has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors. Wendy Jankoski, Robert Moses and Danielle Turner began their terms on July 1.
  • Allentown Art Museum board chair seeks to expand the role of the museum in the community.

Business Matters with Tony Iannelli, is the region's only local business show on commercial television. Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce President, Tony Iannelli, hosts this weekly program that airs Monday's at 7:30pm on WFMZ-Ch. 69. WFMZ reaches 2.7 million cable, satellite, and over air with antenna households from Hazelton to the Jersey Shore. Business Matters is a half-hour interview show that gets inside the minds of business and community leaders to talk about their successes and challenges, as well as regional public policy issues and world trends. Topics range from legislation affecting the business community (right to work; immigration, prevailing wage...) to community at large issues (gun rights, school vouchers, taxes...). The show has 4 panelists representing two sides of an issue. One-on-One programs with VIP's include U.S. Senators Bob Casey and Pat Toomey, US Secretaries Hillary Clinton, Ray Lahood and PA Governor Tom Corbett...just to name a few!
