The unemployment rate has fallen again in Reading and the Lehigh Valley.
According to a new report from the Pa. Department of Labor & Industry, the jobless rate fell to 6% in the Reading metropolitan area in February.
That's the lowest it's been since September, 2008.
The report says Reading's seasonably adjusted nonfarm jobs increased by 200 to 170,200 in February.
In the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area, the unemployment rate fell three-tenths of a percentage point in February, to 6.5%. That's the lowest it's been since November, 2008.
But the report also says the total of nonfarm jobs fell by nearly 3,000 to 345,800.
Meantime, the state unemployment rate stands at 6.2%, while the national rate is 6.7%.
