Cancer Survivor’s Network

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the Cancer Survivor’s Network addresses the diverse needs of any survivor offering a comprehensive selection of topics on coping with cancer. Accessible through the internet or by phone.

Reach to Recovery
A one-to-one support visitation program offered to women with breast cancer before and after treatment.

Look Good…Feel Better
Female cancer patients who want to feel better about themselves while undergoing cancer treatments are invited to attend a Look Good…Feel Better session. Licensed cosmetologists teach you how to style wigs, make the best use of turbans and scarves, and provide tips on skin care and makeup. Each participant receives a free kit of quality cosmetics.

Road to Recovery
This volunteer-based transportation program provides cancer patients with rides to and from their chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Requests for transportation should be placed at least a week before the appointment.

Mileage Reimbursement
There is limited financial assistance available to help defray the travel cost to chemotherapy/ radiation treatments only.

Nutrition, Symptoms and Solutions
A program is available to cancer patients and their families that is designed to meet the individual needs of cancer patients by providing information about the role of nutrition in cancer treatment, and high-calorie nutritious recipes. It addresses side effects like nausea/vomiting, mouth sores, fatigue, dry mouth/dehydration, diarrhea, constipation, changes in taste and smell, and appetite changes and weight loss.

Medication Assistance
Patients facing financial hardships caused by cancer may be eligible for limited financial assistance to purchase prescription medications related to their cancer diagnosis.

Wigs & Turbans
Women undergoing cancer treatments who have registered with ACS are eligible to receive a free wig. Volunteer cosmetologists fit and style each wig – call 610-882-4397 for an appointment.

Cancer Survivor Conference
Scheduled annually in the early fall, this full day education program discusses various topics which may include stress relief, healing, finance, impact of cancer on the family, or more.

Pain Management Education Program
A two-hour workshop that addresses concerns about cancer pain, including causes of pain, assessment, common misconceptions, measures to relieve pain, and self-management techniques.
