TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a couple of showers. Low: 38
After some record-setting temperatures over the weekend, highs fell back into the mid 50s for Presidents' Day on Monday. Bear in mind those temperatures are still 10 to 15 degrees above normal and with all that sunshine on Monday there really wasn't much to complain about for a late-February day.
Skies will remain relatively clear overnight allowing the temperatures to free fall into the upper 20s.
Tuesday will be another above average day temperature-wise with highs reaching into the upper 40s, but again not as warm as it was over the weekend. Tuesday will start out the day with high clouds, but as the day rolls on the clouds will lower and thicken as cold front approaches from the west. This cold front will bring rather cloudy skies to the area Tuesday night and perhaps a stray shower or two.
Even though the cold front is expected to exit the East Coast early in the day on Wednesday an isolated shower can't be ruled out during the morning. The passing of that cold front will also allow for a cloudy morning to give way to some sunshine Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise, temperatures will bounce back a bit on Wednesday as they top out near 60 degrees, but that's not the end of the warm air.
Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will soar to near 70 degrees and possibly challenging records yet again, especially on Thursday! That warmth may be accompanied a nighttime shower on Thursday and a couple showers on Friday.
