WHITEHALL, Pa. - It's hard to believe Zane Kristof's first-ever performance in a musical was this past April.
"I was shaking behind that curtain, I was shaking during that first number," said Kristof.
The junior at Whitehall High School starred in the spring production of the Addams Family as Gomez Addams, only joining after his friends put a little positive peer pressure on him.
"I was super apprehensive at the time because I'm not necessarily the most outgoing person," said Kristof.
He finally gave in and says it was the best decision he ever made.
"You make a lot of friends, you meet a lot of people that you didn't expect to be friends with initially and there's a lot of emotion."
Kristof says the experience helped him grow not only as an actor but as a person.
All of his hard work paid off, he recently landed a Freddy nomination for Outstanding Small Ensemble Performance and whatever happens on Thursday he says he's already won.
"I have no control over it and I'm hopeful the people who deserve things will win them," said Kristof.
Kristof says he plans to audition for next year's musical and hopefully continue pursuing acting after graduation.
"Going forward into college and doing something like this would be a very interesting prospect and would be fun to do."
