Sunrise Chef: Cheers American Bistro

Cheers American Bistro serves up delicious meals inside the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Reading.

Executive chef Daniel Wooten and bartender Dan Hoch were in the 69 News kitchen with a look at what the restaurant has to offer.

Duck Tacos

3 flour Tortilla
4oz cooked shredded Jurgielewicz Duck
2oz Korean BBQ Sauce
1 package of Peas Shoots
1 Avocado

Toast the flour tortillas on a griddle. In a pan, cook the duck and toss with the BBQ sauce. Assemble the tacos and cut them in half. Serve with a side of the Korean BBQ Sauce.

Foot-Long Grilled Triple Cheese Sandwich

2 slices of foot long bread
2 Slices of our house cured Bacon
2oz Goat Cheese
4 slices Smoked Gouda
4 slices American cheese
4 slices of tomato

Butter the griddle. Assemble sandwich on medium heat grill for 4 minutes on each side.

SSC Pasta

2 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic chopped
4 large Shrimp
4 large scallops
3oz jumbo Lump Crab
2oz tomato sauce
½ cup heavy cream
1 oz pesto
2 oz parmesan cheese
Angel hair pasta
Shredded Fresh basil

Sauté the shrimp and scallops in olive oil. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Add heavy cream, tomato sauce and pesto. Reduce for 3 minutes on medium heat. Toss with angel hair pasta. Finish with the parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

Dan’s Cocktail - Blueberry Coconut Mojito

In a pint glass, muddle three or four fresh lime wedges with 1 oz of Rose's sweetened lime juice, 1/4 cup fresh blueberries and three to five leaves of fresh mint.  Fill the pint with ice and then add 2 oz coconut rum. Then fill the pint with Sprite. Shake gently and serve with a fresh lime wheel and a sprig of mint.
