Weather Forecast Discussion

Spotty shower or t-shower around through Tuesday

Cooler than normal through midweek

TONIGHT: Patchy clouds and comfortably cool  with a stray shower or t-shower, especially north. Low: 55

TUESDAY: Intervals of clouds and sun with a shower or t-storm in spots, mainly afternoon. High: 76

TUESDAY NIGHT: Evening shower or t-storm, then turning out mainly clear. Low: 53

Cool day to start off the work week on Monday with temperatures staying in the 70s in many locations. The cooler than average temps were accompanied by more pop-up cumulus this afternoon. A stray shower (possibly with a rumble of thunder) is possible tonight as a short wave cycles around the trough centered over the Great Lakes and through the viewing area. Otherwise, look for patchy clouds skies tonight with comfortably cool conditions as temps fall into the mid 50s.

Tuesday presents a slightly better opportunity for a shower or thunderstorm as the trough over the Great lakes shifts eastward. The shower and thunderstorm activity will still be rather hit-and-miss, but overall it will be more active than Monday. Anyone of the thunderstorms have the potential to contain gusty winds and small hail. Temperatures on Tuesday will remain in the 70s with times of clouds and sunshine.

On Wednesday the cool, unsettled pattern begins to change. Daytime highs will still be in the 70s for many of us, but those 70s will be a little closer to 80 degrees. Wednesday will also feature more sunshine than we saw on Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures continue to climb late this week with highs in the mid 80s on Thursday and near 90 degrees on Friday. While Thursday appears dry during the day there could be a shower or thunderstorm around at night. Those showers and thunderstorms will continue at times on Friday, especially north and west of the Lehigh Valley.
