Lower Saucon lifts water advisory

LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. - Customers of the Steel City water system are able to use their water now without boiling it first.

Because of an unplanned loss of pressure in the water distribution system around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, the Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, had to tell customers to boil their water or use bottled water to drink until further notice.

The system was flushed Tuesday night to clear air and discolored water.

According to the Lower Saucon Authority, water samples taken at multiple sites in the affected area Wednesday morning and Thursday morning were found to be safe to drink.

The boil water advisory was lifted as of 1:50 p.m. on Friday.
