Lung transplant recipient slowly improving

PHILADELPHIA - The parents of a little girl from Delaware County who recently got a lung transplant say she's doing better.

Janet Murnaghan says her 10 year-old daughter Sarah has been taken off a heavy breathing machine and has been moved to a ventilator.

Sarah suffers from severe cystic fibrosis and she received part of an adult lung during a transplant surgery earlier this month.

Sarah is from Newtown Square and suffers from severe cystic fibrosis.

She underwent a six-hour operation at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia last week after a judge intervened in her case and gave her a chance at the list of organs from adult donors, not just child donors.

The case has sparked national debate about organ donation regulations.
