Fire crews respond to large brush fire in Carbon County

Brush fire in Carbon County

FRANKLIN TWP., Pa. - Fire crews from across Carbon County responded to the scene of a large brush fire Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the fire broke out in the 2100 block of Long Run Road in Franklin Township around noon.

According to officials, the brush fire was fairly large and caused numerous local fire companies to be called to the scene.

Scanner reports indicated the fire was moving fairly quickly and smoke could be seen from miles away.

Officials also say a helicopter was called to the scene to assist in fighting the blaze.

No injuries were reported and the fire is under control, according to officials.
