To unclog those arteries, new research shows antioxidant-rich foods like kiwi and cantaloupe might be helpful. They reduce toxic LDL cholesterol. Just eat one cup of cantaloupe or one kiwi a day.
Three glasses of cranberry juice a week or one cup of red-skinned grapes a day can improve the blood cells' ability to absorb fat and use it for energy production, instead of having fat build up in the blood vessels.
Shrimp can also be helpful for your heart, even though it is a source of cholesterol.
They contain an amino acid called taurine, which acts like plastic wrap so that fats can't cross the intestinal wall and get into your arteries.
Try five medium-sized grilled or steamed shrimp twice a week to help unclog those arteries, but skip the cocktail sauce.
