You really are what you eat!
Whether you're angry, happy, mad or sad, experts say it might have to do with what is on your plate.
If you find yourself cranky, irritable and quick to snap at friends, family and coworkers, nutritionists say a better eating plan may be what you need.
For example, foods with sugar like soda, candy, fruit juice, and jam cause huge spikes in your blood sugar, which can leave you feeling cranky and tired.
And even white starch like white bread, crackers, bagels and rice are metabolized into sugar very quickly and can often create the same effect.
What we eat triggers the release of neurotransmitters and hormones that affect how we feel.
If you're feeling anxious, eat Brazil nuts! They're loaded with selenium.
Studies show low levels lead to increased depression and anxiety. Just one ounce containes over 700 percent of your recommended daily intake.
Tuna, mushrooms and garlic are also loaded with it.
If you're stressed, don't grab chips! Snack on vitamin C-rich bell peppers and citrus grouts.
They lower levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.
Are you agitated? A recent study shows eight ounces of tart cherry juice may do the trick.
That's some food for thought.
Ever wake up foggy, and sluggish?
Experts say snack on colorful fruits like pineapple, cranberries, and plums.
These fruits contain antioxidants that fight off free radicals known to damage neurons in the brain.
Aim for several servings a day.
