Counties and communities announce flu shot clinics
It's the flu season and the best way to protect yourself is with a flu shot. See if there's a flu shot clinic near you:

LEHIGH COUNTY
Lehigh Valley Health Network will hold its annual drive-through flu shot clinic during two sessions in November. Immunizations will be available for adults and children six months and older.
Shots will be administered at Dorney Park on Saturday, Nov. 3 and at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Once again, LVHN is partnering with area food banks and shelters, including the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank, Allentown Rescue Mission and the AIDS Activities Office food pantry.
The network is accepting non-perishable food items during each of the drive-through sessions. Food donations are optional and not required to receive a shot.
Those planning to receive a shot are urged to register in advance online. Hourly slots are available for both sessions. Reservation times are estimates and not guaranteed.

Those planning to receive a flu shot during LVHN’s November drive-thru vaccinations are asked to abide by the following requests:
• Access a vaccine information sheet and consent form for each person to be vaccinated at lvhn.org, or request forms by calling 610-402-CARE (2273).
• Complete the consent form and bring it with you when you get vaccinated.
• Dress appropriately—loose-fitting clothing for the shot to be administered in the arm of an adult and the leg of children less than two (2) years old.
• Please NO PETS in the vehicle.
Allentown's Health Bureau is offering free flu shots or nasal mist flu shots on the first three Fridays in November.
The shots will be available from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 2, 9 and 16 from 2-4 p.m. at Alliance Hall at 245 N. Sixth Street.
No appointment is necessary. Members of the public are asked to bring insurance cards if they have them.
Free flu immunizations are also available on Election Day, Nov. 7 at the following locations:
9 -11 a.m. East Side Youth Center at 1140 E. Clair Street
2-4 p.m. Mountainville Memorial at 1812 S. Fifth St
6-8 p.m. Alliance Hall at 245 N. Sixth St.

The Montgomery County Health Department, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, will be conducting one drive-thru flu clinic for any Montgomery County resident age six months and older.
At the drive-thru site all residents will be vaccinated in cars only; no walk-up shots will be given.
There will also be six walk-in community flu sites. The shots are free for county residents.

The Hunterdon County Division of Health will partner with Dr. Ronald M. Frank, a county resident, to co-sponsor five community flu shot clinics this year.
Preservative-free injectable and nasal Spray flu vaccines will be available upon request.
Dr. Frank will accept most major insurance plans.
No co-pays or deductibles are required for participants with Traditional Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage, Aetna PPO, AmeriHealth PPO, Cigna (without PCP on card), HealthNet, Blue Cross BlueShield/ Horizon Products, and United Healthcare/Oxford.
Please present all insurance cards at the clinic to determine eligibility.
For those without insurance, or plans that Dr. Frank does not participate with, the flu vaccine cost is $20 for the injectable, and $30 for the Flu Mist nasal spray.
Reservations for the nasal spray vaccine (flu mist) are requested. Please visit Dr. Frank's website to reserve a dose.
Please note that only individuals from ages 2-49 with no chronic medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, etc. and who are not pregnant are eligible to receive flu mist.

The clinics will also have a community service component. The Clinton Sunrise Rotary, Whitehouse Rotary, and Flemington Jewish Community Center will be collecting non-perishable food donations for local food pantries. As with previous clinics, Dr. Frank will donate a portion of the proceeds to local food pantries.
The Warren County Public Health Nursing Agency (PHNA) has announced a series of flu clinics, including one drive-through clinic in October.

The seasonal flu vaccine costs $15. The PHNA accepts cash, personal checks or Traditional Medicare, Part B for payment. No other insurances are accepted, including Medicare HMOs.
Vaccinations are also available every Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the PHNA office, 162 E. Washington Ave., Washington, N.J. The only dates the shots are not available are Nov. 24, 25, 30, and any other holidays when the office is closed.
Patients are urged to call 908-689-6000, ext. 260 orr 261 to schedule an appointment, due to limited parking.
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY
Combine shopping with preventative medicine at the Schuylkill Mall!
Schuylkill County officials are partnering with the mall to offer a free flu shot clinic on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 4-7 p.m. in the mall's community room.
The Schuylkill Mall is located at Route 61 and Interstate 81 in Frackville.
Flu shots at the clinic are free and offer to anyone over six months of age.
Individuals who have had a reaction to the flu vaccine in the past, who are allergic to eggs, or have a history of Guillain-Barrre Syndrome are advised to see their health care provider.
