Sanofi Pasteur's 4-strain flu vaccine gets FDA approval
The FDA has given the green light to new medicine from a local vaccine maker.
The Food and Drug Administration has approved Sanofi Pasteur's four-strain flu vaccine for the upcoming flu season.
It's the only four-strain vaccine available for children as young as six months old.
The Monroe County vaccine maker's new vaccine protects against both A and B flu strains.
Current vaccines only protect against two A strains and one B strain.
Sanofi Pasteur's world headquarters is based in Swiftwater, Monroe Co., as well as the largest flu vaccine plant in the U.S.
