Irene Snyder

Reporter | Irene joined the 69 News team in August 2018. She grew up right down the road in Lancaster, and is very excited to be reporting in her home state!

Irene last worked as a multimedia journalist/digital media producer for Lancaster Online, where she anchored news updates, wrote/shot/edited online stories, produced podcasts, and hosted online shows. One of her favorite shows, "Shout Out Lancaster," allowed Irene the opportunity to highlight service work in the community.

Irene graduated summa cum laude from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and sociology/anthropology. While still in school, she received a first place award in the Society for Collegiate Journalists' feature news package competition, and was also recognized by the college with multiple awards including the Communications Excellence Award, Points of Distinction Award, and two Distinguished Student awards. Irene continues to present her research at local and national academic conferences.

In her spare time, Irene loves reading (any books by Jane Austen, C.S. Lewis, or Charlotte Bronte), writing, playing piano, singing (anything classical), kayaking, hiking, and spending time with family. Irene is Greek American and loves making Greek food/pastries (OPA!).

With the understanding that each individual has a story to share and lives to touch, she hopes to learn as many of these as possible. Share your story with her! Irene.Snyder@wfmz.com.
