1 dead, 1 injured after shots fired near Lancaster bar

LANCASTER, Pa. - Lancaster police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning near a bar in Lancaster County that left one man dead and another injured, according to a police alert.

Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to a fight in progress at O'Halloran's bar at 1:17 a.m. in Lancaster. Dispatchers reported that there had been shots fired in the area. 

After officers arrived on the scene they located two victims on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Fairview Avenue.

The alert said that preliminary information indicates that a disturbance inside the bar resulted in several patrons exiting the bar. The shooting occurred a short time later.

A 29-year-old male, who was shot multiple times in the torso, was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to an area hospital for treatment.

A second victim, a 20-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital to be treated for injuries sustained after being shot multiple times in the legs. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Both victims were residents of Lancaster City.

Lancaster officers and detectives were conducting interviews and collecting evidence at the scene Saturday morning.
