16-yr-old Hunterdon County, N.J., gunshot victim taken to hospital, officials say

TEWKSBURY TWP., N.J. - A 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound, officials said.

The incident happened late Sunday night, according to a news release from the Hunterdon County, N.J. prosecutor's office.

Tewksbury Twp. police and the prosecutor's office are investigating.

According to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III, "This is an active investigation. The community is not at risk."

The boy was taken to Morristown Medical Center.

Officials didn't release any other details about the shooting.

There's no word on his identity or condition.
