Police nab armed robbery suspect

LAURELDALE, Pa. - Two people have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store Thursday morning.

The holdup happened around 8:30 a.m. at the Turkey Hill, 3701 Kutztown Rd., in Laureldale.

A 17-year-old boy, who police said was armed with a gun during the robbery, was arrested a short time later.

Police are investigating whether the suspect is behind two other Turkey Hill robberies earlier this week.

The store at Kutztown Road and Madison Avenue in neighboring Muhlenberg Township was robbed around 10 a.m. Monday by someone with a knife and a note demanding money, said police, who added that the robber dropped the knife at the scene.

The store at Kutztown Road and Rockland Street in Reading was robbed Sunday, police said.

A person who was with the Laureldale suspect when he was captured Thursday was also arrested on charges of aiding and abetting, police said.
