It was somewhat easier for the Parkland School Board Tuesday night to approve a 3.7 percent tax hike and draw $6 million from its savings to balance its $166 million budget for next school year following a one and a half-hour student recognition presentation for excellence in the art and sciences which included several statewide and numerous regional and local achievements from Parkland’s middle and high school students.
