69-WFMZ-TV is honored to be the winner of eight awards in the 2011 Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association news awards contest.

The Associated Press announced the contest's winning television and radio stations Monday morning.

The entries were judged by the North Carolina AP Broadcasters Association.

The awards, which recognize outstanding broadcast journalism by AP member radio and television stations, cable television and networks in Pennsylvania, will be presented during the PAPBA's annual awards banquet in Harrisburg on April 14.

69-WFMZ-TV also learned last week that it won two awards in the Pennsylvania Broadcasters Association's annual awards contest for outstanding television public affairs program/series (69 News Election Central) and outstanding program designed for children (2011 Freddy Awards).
