69News and Miller Keystone Blood Center team up for blood drive

Sat. 7am-noon outside the PPL Center

69 News is teaming up with Miller Keystone Blood Center to host a blood drive in Allentown.

It's happening right outside our studio in front of the PPL Center on Saturday, September 9th.

It starts at 7 a.m. and will be featured on 69 News at Sunrise: Weekend Edition.

You can sign up to come out and donate, and possibly make an appearance on 69 News.

Miller Keystone says the situation in Texas after Hurricane Harvey has increased demand for blood.

The center is also part of the 4th Annual Heroes Blood Drive Challenge. Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and Reading are competing to see who can collect the most donations between August 21 and September 11.

The donations are accepted on behalf of the cities' first responders who risk their lives for others' safety.
