Berks County seniors wrapped up Older Americans Month on Thursday with an educational celebration.
The Reading Hospital hosted a seminar at the Crowne Plaza in Wyomissing.
The event featured food, door prizes and lots of information booths on home care, exercise and retirement living.
Author Mary Ellen Geist, who wrote a book about caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease, served as keynote speaker.
Organizers said the event is a great way to educate the public on the senior services offered by the hospital.
"We have our senior assessment program, our pause for wellness and all of our services at the Reading Hospital, which are dedicated to older adults," said Martha Connolly, chief social worker, Spruce Pavilion.
This is the 10th year the Reading Hospital has been a part of the annual seminar.
