Berks-based bank expanding reach beyond Pa.

WYOMISSING, Pa. -

Wyomissing-based Customers Bank is expanding into New England.

The bank said it plans to acquire New England Commercial Bank from Flagstar Bank.

The acquisition will give Customers Bank a presence from Rhode Island to Massachusetts.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of the year.
