HELLERTOWN, Pa. -

Officials in Hellertown, Northampton County are making their case for a piece of the Sands Casino revenue pie.

The Northampton County Gaming Revenue and Redevelopment Authority said Hellertown has asked for more than $400,000.

The borough said it needs the money for several things, including a police vehicle, a dump truck, and firefighting equipment.

The redevelopment authority has $1.3 million to give to communities affected by the presence of the Sands Casino Bethlehem.

Officials said they hope to make a final decision by the end of October.
