Boy Taken Into Custody At Fire Scene

Police say a 12-year-old set a fire inside his home Tuesday afternoon.
Fire crews rushed to a scene in the 500 block of Tilghman Street around 4:15 and extinguished a fire on a mattress, fire officials said.
The fire was set by a 12-year-old who now faces charges of arson and reckless endangerment, police said. They say the boy is now being held at the Lehigh County Youth Detention Center. He will face the charges as a juvenile.
Initial calls for the fire indicated that a boy may have been trapped inside the home. That proved not to be the case.
