Budget proposal could keep Hagedorn Hospital open

LEBANON TWP., N.J. -

Governor Christie's budget may also stay the closure of a state-run psychiatric hospital in Hunterdon County.

Christie he wants to expand the Veterans Haven program into northern New Jersey by using Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital in Lebanon Township, he said.

The Veterans Haven program gives long-term social and job help to military veterans.

Christie said it's proven to be successful.

Last year Christie pulled funding for Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital. It's slated to close in June.
