Berks County taxpayers will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets next year.
The Berks County Commissioners have approved a budget for 2013, and it includes a six-point-three percent tax increase.
It's the first time taxes have been hiked in the county in eight years. The commissioners say the increase was needed to offset a nearly nine million dollar deficit.
Commissioners say a possible pay freeze for county workers is still being worked out.
