KENHORST, Pa. -

Give blood, get ice cream.

That deal had folks rolling up their sleeves at the Dairy Queen in Kenhorst on Thursday.

It was the third year DQ has hosted the Miller-Keystone Blood Center for a blood drive.

Organizers said the effort helps to replenish the region's blood supply after Labor Day.

Those who donated walked away with a free ice cream cake, courtesy of DQ's owner, Hamid Chaudhry.

Anyone who missed the drive and is interested in donating blood can contact the Miller-Keystone Blood Center at 1-800-B-A-DONOR for an appointment or check out the center's schedule of upcoming blood drives.
