District confirms more cases of whooping cough

The Quakertown Community School District has identified more cases of pertussis, also known as "whooping cough."

Officials now say there are eight confirmed cases.

They're waiting for test results on another six students who are already being treated for whooping cough.

The affected schools are Milford and Strayer Middle Schools along with Neidig and Richland Elementary Schools.

This comes about a week after several cases of whooping cough were confirmed in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
