WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. -

Residents in one Berks neighborhood will be receiving special filtration systems to deal with what the EPA calls contaminated vapors rising from toxic groundwater.

The Environmental Protection Agency held an informational meeting Thursday night in Washington Township for residents who live near Crossley Farm.

Officials from the agency say 11 homes will have the filtration system installed by December.

Federal officials have been working in that area to clean up a mess created by an industrial company back in the late 1960s.
