Easton Business Owner Accused Of Assaulting Officers

Police said they were called to Leo's Drive Train garage at 923 Pine Street yesterday after receiving a tip that someone might be living in the garage.
When they arrived, police said Leo Matthews became irate and came after police with a cloaked hand, possibly brandishing a weapon.
After calling in reinforcements, police said Matthews punched, kicked, and spat at police, telling them,? Now you have AIDS."
Matthews also said he would "rip [the officer's] face off, rip his head off and spit down his neck," according to the report.
Three officers were sent to Easton Hospital after the incident for possible AIDS treatment.
Matthews was charged with six counts of aggravated assault, one count of terroristic threats, four counts of simple assault, one count of resisting arrest, and four counts of reckless endangerment.
He is being held on $100,000 bail.
