Quick-thinking troopers not only helped find a missing man; they may have saved his life.

An 80- year-old man was found pinned under a minivan in the parking lot of Hope Community Church in Rockland Twp., Berks Co., early Monday morning, hours after he was reported missing, state police said.

Troopers Kevin Masinick and Anthony Garipoli found the man, and Masinick knew not to move him, police said.

"One of the troopers, being a trained EMT, was able to make an assessment on him that he should not be moved, that it could cause life-threatening injuries to him," said Lt. Craig Stine. "EMS responded and the man was safely extricated after getting an injection at the scene."

The man was taken to a hospital, but police had no information about his condition.
