Farmer Knocked Down By Cow, Killed

MAHONING TWP., Pa. -

A longtime farmer was killed in a mishap on his farm late this morning, according to police.

They said Carl Troxell was knocked over by a cow on the Troxell Farm on Troxells Road in Mahoning Township, Carbon County.

Police said Troxell, 81, managed to stand up after the impact, but then collapsed.

He was rushed to the hospital, but died a short time later.
