ALSACE TWP., Pa. -

Friends of Tim Reber are trying to pull together for the family. They said his surprising death comes exactly six months after Reber lost his mother to diabetes and heart failure.

People are now concerned the Reber family won't be able to afford two funerals in half a year.

31-year-old Tim Reber was a graduate of Oley Valley High School. His friends said he was hanging out with fellow grads Thursday night and early Friday morning before he died.

"This day six months ago Brittany and Tim lost their mother and then on this day Tim has passed also," said Bob Kessler.

Kessler is also a graduate of Oley Valley High School and spent the afternoon creating reberfund.com.

"Everybody is spreading the word, we have a web site up now. We're accepting donations," said Kessler.

He said when he learned Tim was shot and killed a group of fellow grads, who still live in Oley, wanted to help.

"Tim always had a smile on his face a warm welcoming person same with Brittany," said Kessler, "Their whole family, they would do anything for you. We will do anything for them."

He said Oley is such a tight knit community everybody knows everyone. Kessler said the man police say killed Reber is another Oley Valley grad, Bob Pfanders.

"Something like this never happens," said Kessler, "This is so shocking I can't even put anything together."

Police will work on the investigation.

"Be in communication with the family. The family doesn't need just money," said Kessler.

People in Oley are collecting money online, and many local businesses have put up fliers and buckets to help collect money for the Reber family too.
