Local Kids Appear in Brad Paisley Video at Allentown Fair Concert
One of Nashville's biggest stars performed Saturday at the Allentown Fair, and guess what, he is making local kids into big screen celebrities! Using a radio contest, Brad Paisley let the kids star in a local version of the music video for his latest single. WFMZ's Jackie Shutack reports from the Allentown Fair. The song is called "Welcome to the Future" kids from across the country are featured. At tonight's concert, local kids will get their chance to shine in the video. You are? You are. REPORTER: Standing tall in jeans and a white cowboy hat, country music superstar Brad Paisley meets the stars of a local adaptation of his music video for the song "Welcome to the Future." >> "I WANT TO BE...." >> REPORTER: The 5 and 6 year olds won the opportunity to star in the music video thanks to a contest sponsored by WCTO Cat Country Radio. >> "Smile!" >> REPORTER: The audience at tonight's Brad Paisley concert will watch these local stars on a screen behind Paisley as he performs live. >> BRAD PAISLEY/COUNTRY MUSIC SINGER: "We picked some of the cutest ones!" >> REPORTER: The song speaks of social and technological progress, stressing the idea that kids - these kids - are the future. Paisley admits he faced a particular challenge with these local kids. >> BRAD PAISLEY/COUNTRY MUSIC SINGER: "That East Pennsylvania accent - I don't know what she's sayin! We watched it about 5 times, and I slowed it down, and I don't know what she's sayin!" >> "Can I give you a hug?" >> REPORTER: Perhaps the parents were a tad more star struck than their kids. >> CHRISTOPHER CORNISH/EASTON: "Was it scary? No. Fun? Yeah!" >> REPORTER: As for Paisley, he says singing in Allentown is always a fun experience, with one small temptation. >> BRAD PAISLEY: "I'm trying with all my might to resist breaking into the Billy Joel song. It's very hard, it's a very catchy song, it's like at any minute you can hear "we'll we're livin..." >> By the way, Brad adds that with the kid with the strong accent, he says that if the audience gets it, then he knows it's just a language barrier.
