New Jersey prosecutors say a man accused of trying to kill his wife and daughter didn't know what he was doing.
David Alonso Monday waived his right to a jury trial.
He'll have a court trial before a judge next month.
Alonso faces attempted murder charges.
Police say he attacked his wife and his adult daughter at their home in Bloomsbury, Hunterdon County in June.
Police say he also beat himself.
Prosecutors are seeking a court finding of not guilty by reason of insanity.
They say, hopefully, he can get the treatment he needs.
