READING, Pa. -

BARTA is revealing its plans for the new and improved Franklin Street Station in Reading.

The agency said it has secured all the money needed to rehabilitate the old station. It'll be a hub for BARTA buses and employees.

"We've expanded to the point where we no longer have enough space in the BARTA Transportation Center," said Dennis Louwerse, BARTA CEO. "We're also in the midst of planning regional connections with the other counties around us and it will be used for that, as well."

Construction should start in August and take a year to complete.
