Officials in Monroe County say casino revenue could be used to bring a Northampton Community College campus to the area.

County commissioners are expected to approve borrowing that will guarantee 48-million dollars in revenue from Mount Airy Casino Resort.

The money would be doled out to the school over 20 years.

The casino money was designated for the college earlier this year in the bill that legalized table games for the state.

County commissioners are at odds over the plan.

Supporters say they need the funding now to expand the school, while opponents say using casino revenue is risky.
